Generated color character — not a sample photograph

CineStill 50D is Kodak Vision3 50D motion-picture film adapted for still C-41 processing, offering ultra-fine grain, natural daylight-balanced color and a cinematic look. It is the slow, high-quality companion to CineStill 800T.

Character & look

Derived from Kodak's premier daylight cine stock, 50D delivers exceptionally fine grain, wide dynamic range and clean, natural color with a slightly muted, filmic quality that scans with a cinematic flavor. Because the anti-halation remjet layer is removed for C-41, bright highlights can show subtle halation, though far less than the tungsten 800T. Its slow speed and fine grain make it ideal for bright daylight, landscapes and detailed work where quality matters most. Color is neutral to gently cool with pleasing skin rendering, and the highlight roll-off has the smooth, gradual character motion-picture films are prized for.

Shooting & development tips

Shoot it in good light to exploit its low speed and fine grain; a tripod helps at ISO 50. It benefits from generous exposure, and mild halation may appear around the brightest highlights.
